''Apogonops anomalus'', the three-spined cardinalfish, is a species of fish in the family Acropomatidae, the temperate ocean-basses or lanternbellies. It is endemic to the marine waters off of Australia. It is the only member of the monotypic genus ''Apogonops''.〔 This fish occurs as deep as , but usually stays between . It grows to a length of SL.
